Man, I was all set for a Strawberry Alarm Clock post, but then Loss Leaders pointed me in the direction of Petra Haden's new cover of The Beach Boys' "God Only Knows." It's done in the same style as her (completely awesome) a cappella version of The Who Sell Out - which is to say, just vocals. And awesomeness.

yes i heard this petra on kcrw the other day and had to call in to see if she was doing a full beach boys album..... jury's still out.
also, i just remembered i read a 60s guitar magazine interview with pete townshend that asked him how much it cost him to smash his guitar every night. he said it cost him everything he made on tour. :rock:
