Cuban Linx: Concrete Frequency folks up L.A., Eddie Vedder goes 'Into the Wild'
Howard Who? reviews last night's Concrete Frequency show at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, which featured such KCRW mainstays as Sondre Lerche and Inara George of the Bird and the Bee.
I Am Fuel, You Are Friends has Eddie Vedder's (almost typed Eddie Van Halen there, phew) demos for the Into the Wild soundtrack. Unfortunately I missed out on that one during my December movie binge, but I enjoyed the book back in the day. Anybody see it?

I saw Into the Wild; pretty good flick. The lead character reminded me of Anakin in the new Star Wars movies (overly whiny) a few times, but that was very fleeting. All in all, I think he's a great actor.
The way Sean Penn directs it, its basically a ton of character development, but it seems to have captured the essence of the book (which I have not read, thus making my opinion somewhat hallow). In short, I'd recommend it.
Cool, I'll check it out. The book is great.
Despite its moments, movie was overrated, and especially shitty whenever the protag would look out over the mountains to the sounds of Eddie Vedder's wailing.
Cool, I'll check out the book. And agreed, Eddie Vedder montages are not good for anything.
